Oil Refinery Factory

On the way back to Juffair, we were passing the Asry Oil Refinery Area and we spotted the whole complex looked really different under the summer evening and its many lights. We decided to stop and took some photos. I was so lucky, the shots turned out really nice as I was only using my N 91. For comparison, please see the earlier shot during the day time (though it was not the same angle but I managed to get the red and white chimney) hey is it called chimney in English?

Well, I guess I prefer the night shot then, do not you agree with me, dear readers?

Family Gathering

It was quite warm and everybody were in the water now and I believe this lady decided it was too early to go to the bank.

A young mother holding her baby and a sister enjoying the sunset

The whole family member were ready to leave the beach as the Maghrib praying time was coming.

One afternoon at Asry Beach

Last Saturday, we went to Asry beach near Juffair Port last Saturday (I hope my data is right, please correct me any Bahraini readers) recommended by some friends who had been there. A few minutes ride from where I am living as it is located nearby Juffair, just few minutes passed the big Bridge of Juffair Port.

There is a mosque nearby, some cold stores, allocated areas for the children with swings and playground and some gazebos for shades. It was quite a warm late afternoon and we all were looking forward to jump to the sea.

Upon arrival, we saw that there are already some crowds there; families, children, some youths swimming, making sand castle or just enjoying the late warm sunset.

The beach sign seems in need of renovation as the letters are mostly faded and unreadable.

Moonsoon Restaurant

Today's photo I am sharing the shot of Moonsoon restaurant, one of the favourite Asian restaurant in Bahrain. The shots were taken by Moses, a good friend who went there to give his girldfriend a romantic dinner treat as her birthday gift. I agree with them the place is stunning. Its unique design, predominantly Asian (Chinese in many elements, a nice outdoor garden and the greenish fish pond, LOL and earthened colour furnitures). It is worth to visit such places in a hot Bahraini weather.

Beit Al Qur'an Part 2 - The Mosque Glass Mozaic Dome

Beit Al Qur'an Part 1 - The Building

Today's shot is Beit Al Qur'an (in Arabic: بيت القرآن‎) which means the House of Qur'an in Arabic. It is an Islamic museum at Hoora, Manama.

The House of the Qur'an was built to accommodate a comprehensive and valuable collection of the Qur'an and rare manuscripts, a concept which is unique in the Persian Gulf. All visitors are welcome, and the complex comprises a mosque, a library, an auditorium, a school and museum consisting of ten exhibition halls.

This great institution and its museum house an internationally celebrated collection of historic Quranic manuscripts from various parts of the Islamic world, from China in the East to Spain in the West, representing a progression of calligraphic traditions from the first century of the Islamic era to the present day.

Mosque Series - Al Maktim at Adliya

For today's photo, I am sharing you the not so great shot of a Maktim from Adliya district some while ago when I went to HSBC in Adliya
