The Green Oasis at Al Areen

Today, I am posting a photo that I took earlier today at 4 pm. It is an oasis located just so close to our resort.

Here is the whole story; I was bored and tired in my office and I remembered that a few weeks ago while passing the road to the resort I saw a glimpse of this oasis from the hills on the left side of Oryx Hill and promised to myself that oneof these days I am going to walk out of the office, passed through the spa reception, then up to the resort entrance, further up to the rocky hill and go down hill to get closer to the oasis. I did it today and tomorrow the follow up photos will be posted with more stories.

I enjoyed the walk down the rocky hills and I wish everybody to have a nice day TODAY!

The Morning Fog is Back

In the last week, the weather turns out really cold now and I even need to wear my headwear now to protect from the chilling winter wind. Today's photo was taken earlier this week as you know why :P. I needed to post the X-mas photo first than these ones as the first ones was more suitable with the season and the foggu shot could only be posted today. First thing first! LOL

So you can see that from both pictures above and down here, the winter fog is coming!!! All over the top building and you can barely see the top floor of the building and the street looked wet from the fog mist.

Even when taking these photos, I had to put on my wind-breaker jacket first. Winter here is no snow but it is bone-chilling. Brrphhh take good care for anyone out there in Bahrain, I almost caught a cold last week because sillif of me. I thought that I could go out without a jacket one evening but I was so wrong!!!! Hot shoer,a glass of hot ginger and a thick wool blanket made me back to healty me and rested well. LOL

Take care then this winter my friends out there!

Street Fruit Vendor at Sanabis Fresh Market

This photo is from my photo archive and taken last week during my Eid shopping trip at Sanabis fresh market. It is interestin to note that most of these fresh vegetable are homegrown product. They are all harvested in Sanabis farm. The choices are quite spoiling for my taste. There are egg-plant, many types of salad leaves (I have no idea how to explain it to you all dear readers, I need to update this page later on as the english is not standard LOL ).

I hope this dayoff on Sunday, I would be able to visit the farms area surrounding Sanabis area where I used to live and I will be paying a visit to one of the workers I posted on my very early posting here.

a 500 Fills Shops at Jidhaf Shops

Today's photo is taken from my Archive as the work become a bit hectic and the weather turns out really cold now which make me unable to take photo recently. So today's photo is about the shop of many found at Lulu road at Jidhaf area. These shops sell variety of stuffs such as accesories, stickers, ceramics aan even clothes range which are imported from China and many countries. The interesting fact is this shop mostly sell items at one price. So this one particular one price shop sell items at 500 fills (for one Bahraini dinars you will have 1000 fills). The trick to tell the 500 fills item from other item is that if you do not see any price tag nor label in it, the items must be 500 fills.

It would be Eid ul Adha in 2 days and people went to market to buy stuffs to cook for the entire family on the blessed day.

Sanabis Fresh Meat Market

Today's photo is the building of Fresh Meat Market at Sanabis. This market is located behind the Marina Mall and adjacent to Rameez Mall and Fresh Fruit Market. In this picture, I took the shot of the outer building of the Meat Market. Considering its location and the crowdiness of a meat market, the building and the street are clean and well maintained.

Happy Tuesday Everybody!

Eid ul Adha, The Festival of Sacrifice

Today we are celebrating Ied ul Adha in Bahrain, the festival of sacrifice and I am posting the shot of lambs at Sanabis farm near my old accomodation. They are really cute animal but always keep a distance to me. Unfortunately I could not take the shot of the goats here. They are very handsome animal; very tally and fearless of human. Now lets get back to the real story why I am posting a herd of lambs today as in below infos.

Eid ul Adha is a religious festival celebrated by muslims worldwide in commemoration of the willingness of prophet Ibrahim or Abraham to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. The devil tempted Ibrahim by saying he should disobey God and spare his son. As Ibrahim was about to sacrifice his son, God intervened and instead provided a lamb as the sacrifice. This is why today all over the world Muslims who have the means to, sacrifice an animal (usually a goat or a sheep), as a reminder of Ibrahim's obedience to God. The meat is then shared out with family, friends (Muslims or non-Muslims), as well as the poor members of the community.

Night Shot of World Trade Center

Last night I went to visit some friends at Sanabis (Finally :P) and returned with a taxi back home. There was always a long traffic along the street of Bahrain Bay. On one stop, it was rightly stopping at one of the traffic light in front of the beautiful Bahrain World Trade Center. I opened the windwo and I saw how magnificent it is is under the dark blue moon and the building lights looked so pretty, Without any hesitance, I pulled out my camera and VOILA!!!!!! Here is the quite nice shot from the bottom angle.

Have a nice evening everybody.

A Wet Floor from the First Rain in December

Today, late afternoon when I left the office to get my another toilet break. When passing the Garden Hammam, I saw the floor was very wet and I thought that the attendant were cleaning the floor and when I looked up and saw the grey sky and the disctinctive smell of after rain. I realize that it has just been rain! OMG, I love rain and this is the best season in Bahrain. I hurrily got my camera and shot the little drizzle still left on the floor. It was quite an awesome view if you shoot a closer shot of the floor. You might think that as if I have taken the picture of Sakhir Rocky Hills itself. LOL I am having too much imagination for today aha!!

Well, here is another shot of the whole floor area, distance does make it different, do not you agree with me?

Anyway, tomorrow is Friday and it is weekend in the Gulf!
Happy Weekend Everybody in Middle East!

Florist and Garden Nursery at Jidhaf

Earlier today, we were driving around Jidhaf area to find the seed feed for my hamsters and upon leaving the petshop, we eventually spotted a big florist shop and the garden nursery just a few shops away. Excitingly, we stopped by and wander around to look at the display and the nursery. Dian, the flower lover, insisted on checking on each display, new pots and even we went further to the end display leading to the nursery.

I could not get the name of the shop as I took the photos with my cellphone and since it was already dark, I did not make it to take the entrance shot nor the shop's name. Sigh!

Anyway, when we went inside we were quite awe by the collection they have there. Though I could not recall the names in English but they are quite big variety available. In the picture above, Dian and Adi were looking at the display fresh flower in pots. The bright yellow of the Chrysantemum is really a sight for the sore eyes. Please mind me, the weather is changing now in Bahrain and everything looks dusty due to the many sandstorm and we are so lucky to be able to look at these colourful flowers.

At the back part of the shop, there is a connecting door to the nursery. It is quite a big garden nursery and I notice that they have great varieties of tropical flowers which remind me a lot of home. they also display some bird baths for a graden lover view.

These green leaves of this pine tree (hmmm I do not what it is called :P) makes me feel I am in New Zealand forest now!

Nevertheless, though we were not buying anything but we enjoyed the trip to this nursery, We might want to visit it again and I should be able to take a decent shots then.

Have a nice Tuesday then everybody!

Mosque Series # 07 Masjid at Lulu Road, Jidhaf

My best friend Adi and Dian bought a second hand car a few days back and it seemed that it needed some services, cleaning up and even changing some accessories. So someone from the hotel gave him a recommendation for a car garage at Jidhaf area at Lulu road. We went there and waited for a couple of hours. I found that watching someone repairing a car not that interesting though I grew up with this similar view all my life back in Indonesia (My late father had a garage back home and eventually run a car garage at home). I got bored and I started venturing outside of the place. a couple of meters away, I saw a mosque and by seeing the architectural buildings and the posters sticking on the wall. I know that it belongs to the Shi'a community. I could not get the whole shot of the mosque as the road was quite narrow and in the end I could not get the top of the minaret. Down below another shot of the mosque with a clear shot of the street around it.

Sunrise in Juffair

This morning, as usual I woke up at 4.45 am for my morning pray. Later on at 5.15 someting, when opening the window curtain of my bedroom, suddenly I remember that I have not taken any sunrise view in Juffair. I grabbed my cell phone and leaned out from the window frame and I shot the first shot of the street below. Though, it was still dark, we still could see that the street was still sleeping, only one car was passing by.
I turned my eyes to the view in front of me. I could see that the sky was quite bright. There was the orange colouring in the right side and I believe that the sun would rise now. Snapped!! I took my second shot of the day.

I looked on my right side and I saw these beautiful colour composition of rainbow. Quite a beautiful day to start my new day.

Have a nice Thursday then!
