The Stallions

I have mentioned on the earlier posting here about the horse riders. Here are 2 pictures captured that day. When I asked permission to take the shot, the guys were so nice and eager to share information about their stallions. These 2 beautiful black stallions are half brothers and both are 2 years old. Their names are Delgado and Black Night

Red and Blue

These boys were stopping what they are doing when noticing me grinning and hi-ing them and shouting for not getting distracted by me from taking their photo. Some said hi's and some were just grinning. Have a nice time at work guys, we appreciate what you are building for us.

Foggy Wet Morning

I took this shot this morning. The sun was hiding there somewhere behind the cloud. It was a wet morning and you could feel it from the surroundings; the grey sky and the foggy air. It is so quiet. No body really want to go out for a walk during this weather; except me, the football boys and some horse riders. I have posted this building before in here. Such a different impression from the same object.

Have a nice day all!!

Mahmood Plaza Getaway

This is the inside garden of Mahmood Plaza, a small hotel in Sanabis, So close by to my old flat. We used to go there after work for one or two our sheesha session (I'll tell more about sheesha on the next posting). With 4 or 5 companies in one session and most of the time. This garden in really nice in the evening and reminds us a lot about home.

Well we have been having fun here and too bad the harsh winter wind also affects their greeness and most customers sit inside now. In here we also met 2 Indonesian fellows, Lulu and her sister Uti. They are from Bandung, West Java. This is also the reason why we have become their regular customer as they bring some sense of home and sincere hospitality. OMG I am homesick now. Blame it to Lulu and Uti!!!!!!!!!

How are guys feeling when away from home?

Basket Weaver Lady

This is a picture of a basket weaver lady at Basra handicraft center with her full gulf traditional clothes. See how quickly her hands do the weaving, a basketry skill that has been around us for thousands of years.

Night and Day Works

Bahrain is building its city in a day and night frenzy. I am really feeling sorry for the construction workers who work day and night during these chilly winter nights in Sanabis. 24 Hours Non-Stop work. We should award these brave tiredless workers for what they have done to us here, to provide a warm and safe future. Hail the workers!

Wet Winter

In the last few days, Bahrain has been blessed with lots of rain. Hooray!! This bless also brings many things and changes our lifes here.

  • First, the weather turns very chilli even during the day time and even worst a night. 3 days ago, it reached 8 degrees Celsius. WAH!!!!
  • Winter clothes! wah my fingers hurt all the time when I forget to bring my glove.
  • Flu / Cold
  • In Bahrain they do not built ditches or I can say, they do not have one! So when the rain pours and flooding, it will be everywhere! Like what it is shown in front of my flat!

Though buggering me, but it is nice sight to see the rain falling and I promise myself if the weather warmer and the rain falls, I will be doing my childhood rite when the rain come. I will be running to it and enjoying every fall of the rain to my body and singing my childhood song about the rain!

" I AM SINGING IN THE RAIN!!!!! (hahaha) nope!

This is the right one!!

HUJAN (by Ibu Sud)

tik-tik-tik bunyi hujan diatas genting

airnya turun tidak terkira

cobalah tengok dahan dan ranting

pohon dan kebun basah semua

tik-tik-tik bunyi hujan bagai bernyanyi

saya dengarkan tidaklah jemu

kebun dan jalan semua sunyi

tidak seorang berani lalu

tik-tik-tik hujan turun dalam serokan

tempatnya itik berenang-renang

bersenda gurau meyelam-nyelam

karena hujan berenang-renang

(wah senengnya kalo bisa mandi2 hujan lagi)

Door Series # 01

This magnificent door belongs to the beautiful mosque in Manama. You could notice that the door has a beautiful detail in its islamic design. The people in Gulf region is very detail when the they are building a door, wether it is for a mosque, office or houses. A great detail and hard work are given to each door. Later on, I am going to search more about islamic design and share it with everybody here and update this page.

La Baquette

I found this photo from my archives as the continual seri of cafe at Dana Mall. This one called La Baquette Cafe, a famous French Bakery. The place is located across Haagen Dasz cafe (hmm tough competition here now). With its French's chic athmosphere, it has a nice selection of beverage as well.

DP Theme Day - Best Photo of the Year

This shot is one of my favorite photos in the whole year 2007. Please give me sometime as I am trying to put the photo loop here, so you can see them all. (right now, I am at work, trying to do some works and blogging at the same time but it seems the time is not on my side now as I have to postpone one job, Sanabis DP LOL ).
So I hope I could manage to post it by later on today.

Happy 1st day in 2008 All!!
